I got a warning for having a personal conversation within a thread, yet I see no option anywhere on this board to send someone a private message. If you ask me, that's ridiculous.

You've been eligible to send and receive private messages for quite a while now. However, in your control panel where you set your various functions you have chosen not to receive Private Messages. If you go in there and change that a whole new world will open up to you.

Hey Tony - as a followup to this: "back in the day" (and maybe still now?), when you tripped the threshold to be eligible for PMs, you were disabled by default, and you had to go into your Control Panel and explicitly enable them. Is there a way the site can be set up to automatically enable PM's upon a poster becoming eligible? This might eliminate some number of the "How come I can't get PMs" posts...

I only ask because it sounds like you are implying that the OP switched them off ("chose not to receive") and I wondered if you were aware that, at least in the past, they come up off by default, and many posters have to be advised how to turn them on.
