Wink Detox... Diets..Plans..Practices?

I've heard a lot about detox diets and rituals that are supposed to flush unwanted toxins and stuff out of your body.

Does anyone know of any.. or have more details on them?

They're bull. The reason you have kidneys and liver is precisely to flush toxins from your body. I know plenty of people who lived to an old age who never had a single 'detox'. They're just another brand of snake oil sold to people who don't understand how their bodies work and so are gullible to the claims made by people.

The best thing you can do for your 'detoxification' is to be sure you drink enough fluids that your urine is colourless or almost colourless.

While a healthy lifestyle is always best, it doesn't hurt to cleanse once in a while. And yoururine should be a pale yellow. Gonetildecember, there are many ways to cleanse your body. Your best bets are to either Google "body cleansing", or call your health food, or vitamin store..

This is from the Articles lacking sources category of Wiki. Just because someone says they work doesn't mean they work. Even Wiki says:

Bsically in terms of the detox question I just wanted to know if it was legit and if anyone had tried anything.

I've started a 1200 calorie a day diet and have increased my gym visits to 5 days a week.. about an 1 hr and 20 minutes of cardio, followed by weights...

I've lost 8lbs so far, majority of which is water weight, but for now its working I guess.. still anyone advice anyone could offer would be great.

Look into Isagenix, my parents were both battling with weight loss a while loss and did the 9 day program. It was just the starting point for them, they have since started eating healither and going to the gym too. I am not sure how much it costs, but look into it if you are interested!

I'm not sure it's completely legit, but hey, working out, drinking lots of fluids, and eating healthy can't hurt? right?

In my opinion, we take in a lot of toxins everyday and detoxifying your body is important.
I guess you're just talking about diets and plans and what not, but there's also colon, liver, kidney, etc. cleanses. I don't think they're all necessary, but my mom did a colon cleanse and lost about 3 pounds of waste and then she easily lost more weight after that

Personally, I don't agree with detox diets and rituals either.

I think the best way to detox the body is to have a lifestyle of healthy eating and exercise. Eat plenty of fiber and drink enough water. This will help you eliminate the bad stuff.

Good Luck.
