Well done, SB! Congratulations! She is one lucky baby to have you as a mom!!!

I know what you mean about the surreal part. That's exactly how it was with me...still is sometimes after all these years. I wonder if the shock ever truly wears off.

Wish I could send you flowers!!

I hope you post some pictures soon.

She decided to tease me for days with false labour pains, turns out things must have been having a pretty good dress rehearsal, because when she decided to come, there was NO stopping her!

Born 22.10.09 after a short 4 hour active labour and only 20mins of pushing.
Completely au naturale- no time for any intervention or proper pain relief, so managed with gas and a birthing pool.

I CANNOT believe I birthed a 10lb baby with no drugs. I am not a big person. I did need a few stitches.

As for having a BABY-its so surreal. She is the most beautiful thing I have ever laid eyes on, took a while for me to get my head around it, I think I am still in shock. I could watch her all day.

Congrats on her finally arriving !! Wow a big baby !! Awesome labor of only 4hrs !! Great job !!! My first was 5 hrs and 13mins. My second baby girl was two of my first daughter she was 10pds 13 oz!! She was a wk late and 16 hrs 3 mins!! She was breech so I think that is why it was so long!!! She tore me a new one, they never told me how many stitches !! I know i couldn't sit for 5wks !! I was all natural felt everything .. Pushed for 2hrs and had to use a vaccum .. Wished i done the water birth but they gave me epidural too soon !! By the time it was time to push her out they cut it off... So what you name her? Enjoy her cause the yr goes by so fast !! My baby girl is already 15mths !! Can't wait to see pics !! Enjoy your baby moon!!! Rest when she is .. Best advice I can give you !!

Wow sb! 10 lbs and 4 hours labour? You must be exhausted. The pain must have been excruciating. A friend of mine went through the same thing and she wished she had longer labour since it gives your body more time to become acclimitized to the pain.

You done good to be up and about so soon.

I have never heard this before. Interesting.

A friend of ours had easy labor and deliveries...and proceeded to have five more children.

Congratulations! The most important thing is that you have a healthy delivery and a healthy baby! Take it easy for a long while - you have a lot of physical changes taking place that are exhausting.

Babies are so lovely!

Ha ha ! I told SB ( and now I'll tell you, because it's PERTINANT !) that my experience was similiar !

I was SURE I was just having a stomach ache and actually sent my H to the store for prune juice !

A couple hours later ( DUH) i figured it out, when I saw the bloody " show"{mucas} on the TP.

Thankfully, I was able to hop in the car, but one of my reactions to extreme pain is puking, so by the time the contractions were really close, I was....not well.

I DID decide on the epidural and it didn't slow labor down a BIT. I kept progressing, just had no pain : cracked jokes, watched TV, napped.

When it was time to push, I was like " Now ? Just...push ??? And yup, that was all I had to do, and baby was out 5 minutes later !

Did I mention NO PAIN, and how big an epidural fan I am ???

Anyways, SORRY SB, this is about YOU, and wondergirl !! I am so happy that things went well for you and the babe !

Seriously, all you can DO is stare at this new human and wonder how you can be so madly in love with somone you just met !!!

And everyone is right : enjoy it, it does go quickly, though all the stages are fun, and I'm betting theres a wonderbaby 2, somewhere out there on the horizon !!

HUGS !!
