White men, black woman? Fetish or actual interest?

Recommended Posts

I have met and dated my fair share of men, of many ages, though I am only 20... I sometimes felt though, that the men that I have dated and just so happened to be white would make comments that would throw me off, and making it obvious that they only showed interest in wanting to be intimate with a black woman, nothing beyond. "I've never been with a black girl." is the biggest red flag when I comes to dating, unfortunately I've gotten it so many times...

My boyfriend now, however, never makes comments on our racial differences unless he doesn't seem to understand something of black culture...

My main question is, do men that date black women do it because the woman they are interested in just so happens to be black, or are these men just "seeing what it's like."

I ask because of the way black woman are portrayed, and just other ignorant comments about us such as how we are apparently "gross" and "have bad attitudes."

I date Caucasian men and yes, IMO, it's more of a "I just wanna see what it's like to be with a black chick" thing and then they go back to their Caucasian lives....

There are guys who don't have a "fetish" for black women and/or aren't doing it to "just see what it's like" - but they are difficult and pretty much impossible to find.

But understand that because of family, society, cultural pressures - even "if" they are colorblind, they still may not see a future with you.

It depends on the person.

Sort of asking how the men of loveshack feel personally then. I want to know how others feel.

I feel like I have found someone that's not into just being with a black chick, like an accessory. I'm around his family and friends, everything is a normal serious relationship. It's nice compared to what I've had before.

If I meet a woman and get along with her, share the same interests, enjoy her company and feel relaxed around her, I don't care if she's a Klingon. Too much emphasis of the pigment of ones skin can make you a very narrow minded person. If she makes me happy then I benefit from it and someone opinion doesn't mean a hill of beans to me.

I am not black, but have been around the block.

Its my strong opinion that men start off wanting to see what its like. Whats wrong with curiosity?

There are plenty of c men who have tried and liked it, and then either prefer it over others and/or just like it a lot.

There are men who never date outside their race.

The main thing is, focus on what is making YOU feel good.

If I were single a woman's race would be the last thing I looked at when searching for a good mate.

Well, take it with a grain of salt....

I bet the tides would change the day he announces he's actually gonna do something serious with you (i.e. marriage).

What's wrong is treating someone who wants to date you as a "curiosity" rather than a human with a heart, feelings, and deserving of being treated with dignity and respect.

There's black hookers you know...if guys want to see if a black vagina is purple or pink or blue, those guys can pay someone like a black hooker to satisfy all the curiosities they have.

BTW, mine is pink w/a little darkness - go figure...cuz I'm mixed. And quite frankly, mine is freakin' pretty. I prefer a mixed colored vagina rather than a pure pink one. Can't say the same for penises...I somehow prefer the pink ones...

Oh, and there's also porn...that's how I got to see different colors of penises rather than the pink ones I've grown used to. You can go to porn and see what color areolas black women have too. BTW, mine are light brown....

Race means nothing to me when dating. I've dated different races and it was never a factor in deciding to date or not to date.

But yes, there are men and women who have a fetish for a particular race and therefore it will mostly be a sexual thing in that case.

And in this day and age there are still people who won't date a particular race for whatever prejudiced thought they may have.

My best friend's girlfriend is black. Going in, he fully admitted that he'd always wanted to date a black woman. However, he genuinely cares about her now and they've been together for almost a year.

Great story there too. They worked together for a few years and both of them had a secret crush on the other. But neither did anything about it because they're co-workers. Then both of them shared their secret crush with a mutual work friend of theirs. The guy told my buddy how she felt, and he played it cool talking to her a bit more around the office. Then getting her number, etc.. So not only did he manage to turn two years of pining into a successful relationship, but they both did it despite being co-workers. That is actually the kind of stuff they make a movie on. Haha

I wouldn't say a "fetish" per se, but some guys out there aka "wiggers" who are so into trying to be black (i.e. flat rimmed baseball caps, cars with rims, oversized jerseys, bling and talking slang) that they also develop some desire to only date black women. They also are freakn' annoying to me...to me a "wigger" is akin to "black face" mockery of black people.

I guess this could also be a maturity thing, but even then, older men would be more into a fetish of getting with a younger black woman... having gotten involved with a man in his mid 30s I should have just KNOWN

Never would I ever date a "wigger" just doesn't seem right at all and most definitely would not sit right with my family.

Here is a startling fact for you: Most men fantasize or have fantasized about having a one night stand or just a fling with a black woman.

A fantasy by itself is okay. The problem starts when some guys mistake the fantasy for reality and act on it.

Men should only be with a woman they are really into, regardless of race. Otherwise, leave them alone.

oops, I read this as white woman, black male.

No I don't think it's a fetish. I mean...I'm sure it is for some. But there's always a minority. Some white males just have a preference for black beauties.

Are you black Gloria? For some reason, don't ask why, I always thought you were Spanish or something!

I think many of us white guys do want to try everyone out in a dating sense.

I did it out of curiosity the first time, but for some reason, there are a few thin, toned, in shape black chicks in the world that get me going like no other girl from any race can. Like pure lust.

Right now, there is a black girl I'm talking to. We saw each other last summer. We will again this summer (she's 23, I'm 40...for the haters....lol). So she acts and speaks whiter than me (I'm northern European), we get along great and always have the best times together. So that one is real.

But I'm scared of a future where I have this whole interracial thing. Like dealing with my family and everyone.

See now that's one thing I trip on, sure the family is okay with me in front of us but how was it before? I wondered if they were shocked or disappointed...

I know some families are pretty extreme telling sons or daughters that they'd better not ever bring home a person of color...

I'm black by race, Hispanic by ethnicity, and sprinkled with a bit of white...

I'm a "daywalker/hybrid" - part vampire, human, and werewolf...an abomination to say the least

That's an interesting combo! I thought you had a little latin sas to your posts. I know you mentioned being not-white but I couldn't place you. You just became a helluva lot more interesting to me! Shame you aren't my neighbour haha

Exactly. My parents have made plenty of off color remarks (no pun intended) in that department when it's just us. The girl I'm on and off seeing actually had a nightmare that my mom told me I could do better, regarding her. She has never even met my mom.

Then i worry about her family as well. Half of her family is very proper. About as tricky as meeting the Cosby's. The other half... well, there's uncle Busta (as in Rhymes) and all these crazy people I have zero experience with trying to have a conversation with. I'm sure Id be the butt of like 1000 jokes too and some of the family wouldn't approve.

Then i also wonder about the other life stuff... team stuff... couple stuff.

Fact: Black people are pulled over and hassled by cops way more often.

Right now, as a mature white guy, I can get away with literally anything. When I had a very cute, petite, short, younger, pretty white wife, we could have stolen a cop car and not got in trouble. ha ha ha

But... does this type of thing change in an interracial relationship?

All concerns, as silly as they may sound.
