when a guy says 'keep in touch'

does that mean he at least wants to keep contact/stay friends? or does it mean something else?

To me, its just a polite phrase that doesn't mean anything.

Depends on the guy. If he's a shy/inexperienced etc. type of guy he might say that out of nervousness. If he's an otherwise normal guy then it's usually just "I'm not really that interested" code word. Did he hug or kiss you goodbye?

perhaps. although some people don't play the faux politeness game, so when i say something like that i truly mean it.

It Meant Stay In Touch

It meant literally "stay in touch".

Realize that men are very direct for the most part and dont do hints or subtlety very well. You are reading to much into it.
