Wondering if anyone has dealt with this. My H ends up drenched at night. Getting to the point where I need to sleep on the sofa. This happens regardless if it is hot or not in the house, blankets or not, ect.

He had recent blood work that came back just fine.

Any clue here....... I have looked and looked and cannot find anything on the net...... It only happens when he sleeps....... also quite odd is that he rarely to never can recall a dream...... not sure if that has anything to do with it or not.

Happens to me too on occasion. I'm not sure why, but yes, it's rather bothersome.

I can't comment on the night sweats but think I can comment about the dreams.

I never used to remember my dreams ever.. but I also had trouble getting up in the morning as well..

I removed caffeine from my daily palette and have been caffeine free ever since.. I now remember most of my dreams and have no trouble getting up in the morning

But... but... but... how do you survive??

A caffeine-free morning? What's the point of living???

I haven't had any caffeine ( except for the amount that is in chocolate ) for about 1.5 years now..

I know.. I thought I couldn't possibly survive .. but it has had a real positive effect on my life

He is on the caffeine free diet....... also interesting he is highly irritable if he goes without food......skips lunch ect.. (acts like a real a**h***) ..... after he eats he goes into sleep mode...... like many people do post Thanksgiving Day meal..... Dr. cannot has not connected the dots so to speak....... it is causing some conflict..... bitchy, sleepy, sweaty.......:o (like living with a group of really nasty dwarfs)

I am thinking at times ( shut the F up and eat something you bastard) ...

then when he does eat he is tired as hell......

grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr.

tiny lightbulb appears

Sounds like it may be a low blood-sugar problem, especially the relationship of the empty belly and a case of the growling grumpies.

Funny thing, though, is that he's likely skipping lunch because he's under the delusion that he has too much to do. Somehow - and I don't know how you'd do it, frankly - you'll have to show him that being an a**h*** and trying to work on an empty stomach is actually costing him more time and energy than if he took some time off and fueled his body with something decent.

But, if he's anything like I used to be, he'll nod and smile and agree, and then go back to his habits.

Not unusual for a male to have high priorities mainly for

sex

food

sleep

However - just a few things from experience that I will throw out there, not saying they pertain to him necessarily:

When my dad was drinking heavily, he was a man that would sweat profusely while sleeping. After he quite the juice, no more sweats!

Could be a hormonal imbalance similar to women and menopause.

He could be reviewed for his blood sugar level, as that could also be in question.

Good luck and let us know what the determination is.

I am growing tired of repeating "you need to eat" ....nicely that is......perhaps it is time to get a tad bossy....... EAT NOW YOU PRICK! :p

no heavy drinking taken place at all........ probably has not had a beer even in 2 weeks.......

going to find a new DR. for him. I was reading that "dead in Bed" dying in your sleep is related.........YIKES!

blood work came back normal...... post not eating blah blah testing....

I was reading that a dose of caffiene may help..... hummmm?

I may tell him Viagra will keep him from sweating at night???......:lmao:

(well it will make him sweat more, but I will enjoy my nights more......)

He has no problem in that dept.... but hell why not go with that theory :bunny:

Did they do all the tests suggested in the AAFP article? Did they do the glucose tolerance test because it sure does sound like hypoglycemia to me. Also, did they do thyroid tests? Doctors can sometimes suffer from prejudices like 'thyroid is a womens' issue' and won't test for things they think improbable.
