Author amaysngrace
Yesterday I had really bad pains across the top of my back, like around my rib cage and through the night I kept trying to stretch thinking it was muscular. But the pain woke me up around 5:00 in the morning so I took aspirin and went back to bed. Around 8 I woke back up again with the pain, came downstairs and took more aspirin then got lightheaded and then the pain in my back was gone. But now I feel weirded out. Author amaysngrace
I think it is supposed to shoot down your arm What Are the Signs and Symptoms of a Heart Attack? - NHLBI, NIH but only a doctor could diagnose it See that's the thing...I always have pain and numbness and tingles cause of this stupid disease I've got. But I have herniations in my low back, this pain was in my upper back. I'm young for one but I was anorexic then bulimic every day for about 12 years. I should probably go see a doctor but I don't want to miss the concert tonight.
Lani
Go to the doctor. It's not something to take lightly, and certainly more important than seeing a band. You may be fine, but it's better safe than sorry.

I should probably go see a doctor but I don't want to miss the concert tonight. People get all sorts of stuff at whatever age. Didn't think seeing a doctor would take that long? If it IS a heart attack, you will probably miss the concert anyways.
Robert
You should go to the doctor to be checked out, hopefully it is just a panic/anxiety attack as those can mimic a heart attack.

And then you can enjoy the concert, reassured that it was nothing! Or, if is something, you'll live to see another concert!!! ((((hugs))))) please go now.

carhill
When was your last physical? Did you have an EKG as part of it? Do you have a history of arrhythmias? I have a history of transitory atrial arrhythmia and the first time, long ago, when it 'felt funny' I got checked out and the condition was explained. During times of stress, when experiencing one, the combination of stress plus the condition has marked symptoms of what one may experience with a heart attack. Taking the aspirin was a good move, generally. IMO, be calm and make an appointment with your GP and share your experience with him/her and inquire about getting a EKG/ECG, at minimum. The problem with heart issues is that sometimes they are silent and incremental, doing damage to the organ in bits over time until something major goes wrong. Getting baselined, educated about one's condition (the episode could be completely unrelated to your heart), and then monitoring can help with prevention of, or quick action on, future episodes. If you are prone to 'worry', that, taken far enough, since it dumps stress hormones into your body, can cause one to believe they're having a heart attack, hence my advice to be calm and address it now. One step at a time.
tman666
I know I'm late to this, but you definitely need to get that checked out. Hope it is nothing, but better safe than sorry with this kind of stuff! Let us know how it goes!
candie13
Never had a heart attach, just checking to see how you are! Stay safe, get a good specialist and start your medication. Best of luck!

One step at a time. Thanks carhill. I've been so stressed out lately worrying about my kids. I'm sure that plays a part. Plus I eat like crap and hardly exercise but I think you are right that its mostly the stress. I just had my first EKG ever about an hour ago. They have me hooked up to wires and took an X-ray of my chest and drew blood. My sister texted me and told me to have fun tonight and I just said I'm looking forward to it but I don't want anybody in my family to worry about me until I know what's going on. I wish they'd hurry up and let me go home. The doors open at 5:30 and I'm an hour away.
