Agree, preraph....I didn't want that in my history so I left it completely alone!

Expect to see them every night during the six hour period from midnight to 6 am Eastern time and occasionally during the day. Nearly every forum on the internet which is remotely popular has spam problems. Forums like LS which haven't been updated in years have more. It is what it is. I'm up early cleaning it right now.

On other forums Ive joined, I had to type in numbers/letters to prove I wasnt a bot. Couldnt something like that be set up? Might save the mods a lot of aggravation.

As often repeated, even senior moderators cannot touch forum structure. That's the owner's privilege and the owner chooses not to engage or change anything. So here we are. We're dedicated and have eyes. Thanks for the reports!

I read this many times and seems like a very bizarre situation. Why would anyone moderate a forum that the owner/administrator abandoned? If I were deleting 500+ spam posts a day, I'd create a new site , offer to take ownership, or quit. The spam is a major problem; You must have a lot more patience than me.

Most moderators are older members who care about the resource. No one is beholden to the site. It's purely voluntary. Myself, I volunteer on a couple other sites and own one forum. The main reason I volunteered here was to get rid of spam because at the time there was only one moderator, Tony, and he was overwhelmed and the forum was suffering. He was able to reach the owner and get him to engage since they'd known each other from the beginning back in the 90's. We still try but no luck since 2014.

By the way, LoveShack will be 20 years old on November 15.

ETA, this being Saturday morning, we usually have a big spam push on the weekends. Let's see if this weekend is typical.

Unless my fellow moderators stop by to say different, today has been a surprisingly light spam day. Feel free to add comments when floods of spam appear. That helps us with timelines and trends.
