Found a way to break the cycle

Recommended Posts

Over the past couple of days, I have been thinking and ruminating over the past couple of days. After talking to my friend's brother about his unfortunate situation to reflecting on my various friends' successes with women, I have come to many realizations. If you're anything like me, a person who is consistently overlooked by women, you find yourself wavering back and forth between a state of melancholy at your situation and a state of irrational happiness. This is caused by having a lack of center. What is needed to transcend this situation is mastery.

Mastery is the only way out of this sad state of affairs, I have realized. You may be asking, "what is mastery?" Mastery is simply that. It is being elite. Mastery over your career, mastery over your body, mastery over your mind, mastery over your life. I have recently done the math and I have come to the conclusion that I will be rich by the time I am 30. I am currently working on becoming more aesthetic and becoming more physically imposing. Since I have returned home, I have been delving into studies in various things. I have been furthering my studies of in-depth economics. Reading biographies of great persons. Reading up on architecture. Reading up on web technologies. Basically achieving extreme mastery and being as elite as I can. Today, I got a phone call from one of my classmates, inviting me to join his startup in West Palm Beach. If I accept the offer, I'll be one of the founders and be considered a Cash Management specialist. I'm just really excited for future possibilities and this is just one of them.

So for me, mastery over myself, over my mind has displaced my desire for females. Some people just aren't meant for it and I won't be wallowing in it when I'm meant for higher things.

So to everyone, remember - mastery. Mastery breaks the cycle.

Good luck and godspeed to you all.

I congratulate you on your recent revelations, but just a few things I'd ask...

Who defines mastery? Who defines elite? Is it merely casual knowledge of a broad range of topics, as you've explained above? Or becoming a world renowned expert on a particular subject?

Again, I commend you, but I think this is just a band-aid. Give it a couple weeks, you'll be wallowing again, as you are not addressing the root issue but instead covering it up with words such as "mastery" and "elite."

Again, I commend you, but I think this is just a band-aid. Give it a couple weeks, you'll be wallowing again, as you are not addressing the root issue but instead covering it up with words such as "mastery" and "elite."

Since I am a student of the world, I truly believe that there are few "stupid" questions. However, I feel as if you are trying to degrade my assertions by reducing them to relative watermarks rather than absolute ones. Being "elite" is an absolute watermark. A hallmark of being "elite" is simply that of being at the paragon of your field. What constitutes that of being "elite" can change year to year as each field has different requirements for what makes someone in the field "elite". For example, a technological breakthrough could come about that forces everyone in the field to adapt and research mastery of this new technology. But regardless, one who is "elite" is considered an expert in their field, one who would easily get hired at any position in their field, and one who is considered a heralded elder. Though young, Mark Zuckerberg and Jack Dorsey (Facebook and Twitter/Square), they are considered "elite" within their field for their knowledge of what it entails.

Another side note: as you try to ascend to "elite" status, there will be those who will inevitably try to knock you down and tell you it is a bad idea. Many humans are nothing but crabs trying to drag you down into the bucket, they wish to prevent you from achieving greatness and rather would see you swell about in the quagmire of mediocrity. Mastery can only be obtained through self-sacrifice and going beyond. Do not listen to them, for mastery can only be obtained when you master yourself.

Good luck to you.

I think it's good that you are focusing on other areas of your life, and looking to excel in other areas. Focusing solely on one thing and wallowing in despair over your struggles with one area of your life is not the answer to overcoming anything. When you have a well-integrated life where you are focusing on many different things, it definitely adds to your life, and will in turn make you interesting to others. People can enjoy life in many ways. They can get fulfillment in their life from many things. Finding your passion in life in a process, and it's good that you are realizing that having a girlfriend is only one aspect of life, and there are many more aspects that you can develop. Some people are very passionate about their careers. Some are very passionate about certain causes or issues that they want to get involved with. There are many ways to enjoy life and many different aspects of life to be enjoyed. To act like life is not worth living just because one aspect (romantic relationship) is not currently going allright, is shortchanging yourself and blocking out all the things that could bring joy to your life.
