Belle88 Posted April 2, 2015 Share Posted April 2, 2015 I don't really understand why my mother is allowing this but one of her relatives is shoveling her parental duties on my mother and us. She expects us to care for her child when she is working. Thankfully not everyday but her child constantly is coming over or begging to come over. Her child is a pre-teen and my mother and myself and other family members are expected to help out at the drop of a hat. What she really needs is a full time babysitter but refuses to get one. Accept that your mother allows the kid to come over and try to get along with her. There are probably good reasons for the current situation, the most basic one is that families help each other out. Maybe there are other reasons you haven't been told about. And if the child is begging to come over, clearly she likes it at your mother's house. Maybe that's because her home life isn't great?
