Hi everyone, I was hoping I might be able to pick some of your brains. I am looking for post-divorce child expert, and a certified coach for a divorced mom. I'm going though a divorce and just need some help. If anyone has any suggestions on successful experts I would be interested in hearing from you. Thank you, I greatly appreciate it. - Janet

what better way to get advice than from people that have been through it? I would suggest just post your story or whatever it is on your mind, or post "your friends" story and situation.

Divorce hurts, especially with kids. Kids are very curious and they ask questions that sometimes feel like a stake going thru your heart, but they are very strong too, a lot stronger than we think.

I will just add that seeing a specialist was one of the smartest things that I did, for so many reasons.

Here's what happened with that. My son is very young (was 18 months at separation). I had some real worries about my ex as a parent, and about divorce in general.

I called a behavioral-health referral system through my health insurance. I specifically asked for names of people who specialize in infants and children under three.

My son and I saw her regularly, about once every week and then twice per month, for four months. It was so helpful. She had worked with divorced families a lot and was very experienced. She put a lot in perspective for me. What a godsend.

So I reecomend that you call a referral serrvive in yoiur area and ask for someone who specialized on children your child's age.

They ask questions that sometimes feel like a blow to the chest. I have a 3 5 and 11. All 3 in their own way dealing with it.

Im realizing.they are stronger than i think they are, stronger than me it seems. They adapt and survive And will remember us as parens and what we did and thats what matters.
