very broken hearted

I am not new to LS i was here few years ago and am back now : me and my

girlfriend (ex). have broken up after year and a half together we are both 46

and i am totally devastated, my health hasn't been very good last 3 month

heres the story... I have a heart condition called atrial fibrillation where i have episodes

of very fast heart rate, 13 weeks ago i went into hospital for a ablation its a

procedure to burn the inside of the heart to kill the pathways that started the

Afib anyway first ablation failed made me worse 2nd ablation two weeks later left me having a cardioversion ie shock to my heart, 2 weeks later 3rd ablation,

where they went wrong and put an hole in my heart i was so ill and it failed had to stay in bed nearly a month with alot worse heart rate, then had to have

another shock, i had gone through far to much any human should go through

i cant put it into words the hell i had experienced tears roll down my cheeks

as i write then 3 weeks later my girlfriend love of my life texts me she not in

love with me anymore its over... after all that has happened to me am still

recovering, i needed her the most and she broke my heart it was a massive shock its left me trying to get well with the devastation on top

 

This girl was going to be with me for rest of my life and now she gone am

here alone not many family members here to rely on and friend have all moved on

 

feeling so lonely and alone she was there for me at the hospital so my bond

to her grew to huge heights am not a needy person but when times are bad

and you need your partner she was there when i was in the hospital, and now

nothing, i have a big heart and when i love someone i really do i would never

in a million years have done this to her or hurt her in anyway

 

need a bit of support and understanding i am so devastated i've gone NC

but will have to contact her nextweek to get her stuff back

I'm so sorry that you are experiencing this especially since she couldn't be there in your recovery. Please take care of your health over her stuff or her contact. What a terrible thing for her to do to you. I agree with NC after you are ready to give her stuff back. Rely on friends and family at this time. Hugs

I am so sorry for what you are going through, I am 28 and I don't have as much experience as you do, but something I understood in my life is that things suddenly go wrong in our lives, and when something goes wrong all of a sudden all other things are apt to go wrong as well. I am heartbroken myself, 2 and half months have passed since BU, but I don't feel a lot better, sometimes I doubt if there has been any significant progress at all. I can blame myself for that since I broke NC twice this months, it was a deadly mistake at best.

 

Break ups almost always come out of nowhere, I couldn't have imagined her breaking up with me, I mean she was closer and warmer than what she had been in the past, but suddenly she broke up with me and I too was devastated and heartbroken. It is ridiculous, it is like a picture hanging on the wall, the picture may be there for days, months and years, suddenly the picture decides it does not want to be there, and one day when you don't even expect it, bang, the picture falls down...Bang!

 

I still can't recognize the way I feel either, but I know something, sooner or later these people will be history, there will be a day, she will be like a person you met in a taxi and nothing more, you will have zero emotion and feeling for her, stay strong man! we will be there before we even know it.

It's amazing what people will do to each other when things get 'real' isn't it?

 

Saying you're better off with this person not in your life is true, but I know it's devastating for you.

 

Look after yourself and get this person out of your life as quickly as possible.
