I had a rather strange breakup 2.5 months ago, he simply changed his mind over night that he didn't want a relationship. So anyway we've had no contact etc and I feel I have made some steps in the right direction. Thing is I'm going on my 1st date post break up this weekend. This guy is never nice but I still think about my ex. I'm so ready to move on and completely get over him but I still get a weird feeling when I think about being with another guy and all that. Any advice how to be able to give this new guy I chance w/o comparing him to my ex right from the start?? Link to post Share on other sites
carolinaboy Posted November 22, 2007 Share Posted November 22, 2007 first off, he's not your ex. so that's the best reason why. secondly, if the ex wasnt nice at all to you, why do you care? easy to say, but give the new guy a shot. he may not be a bad boy, but maybe he's what you need right now. just be honest w/ new guy about your hesitancy but not too critical of him IMO.
